An explosion at a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department training facility killed at least three people, according to the US attorney general, Pam Bondi.

Pam Bondi said in a post on X that it “appears to be a horrific incident.”

The explosion was reported around 7:30 am at the Biscailuz Training Facility, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Nicole Nishida.

 

 

 

 

The spokesperson says the cause of the incident is under investigation – they were not yet ready to confirm any deaths or injuries.

LA Mayor Karen Bass confirmed Arson investigators and bomb squad remain at the scene.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office said he has been briefed and that the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is in contact with the Sheriff’s Department and closely monitoring the situation.
