Nigeria’s Super Falcons wrapped up their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania in an international friendly played in Casablanca on Thursday.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and substitute Esther Okoronkwo were on target as the African champions came from Tanzania’s late equaliser to secure victory in their final tune-up game before the tournament.
Head coach Justine Madugu named Chiamaka Nnadozie in goal, with Tosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Shukurat Oladipo and Sikiratu Isah forming the backline. Jennifer Echegini, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, Ajibade, Rinsola Babajide and Asisat Oshoala completed the starting XI.

The Super Falcons will now shift their focus to the tournament proper, where they begin their title defence against debutants Malawi on July 28 in Rabat as they chase a record-extending 11th WAFCON crown and a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
