Super Eagles have officially kicked off preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with the opening of their training camp in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.
The team’s base at the Renaissance Hotels marks the start of an intensive buildup ahead of the continental tournament.
All members of the coaching and support staff were already on site, ensuring that technical, administrative, and logistical arrangements were in place before the players’ arrival.
Their early presence underscores the team’s commitment to a focused and professional preparation.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was the first player to arrive, touching down shortly after 2:00 a.m. local time.

His early arrival set a tone of discipline and dedication that the coaching staff hopes will be mirrored across the squad.
He was soon followed by fellow goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, giving the technical team an immediate opportunity to start focused training in a key position for Nigeria’s AFCON campaign.
Midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro joined shortly afterward, strengthening the squad and adding depth to Nigeria’s midfield options.
Six additional players—including Igoh Ogbu, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Tochukwu Nnadi, Amas Obasogie, Ademola Lookman, and Semi Ajayi—were expected later in the evening as the Super Eagles continue to assemble for their AFCON 2025 campaign.
The early arrivals and structured setup highlight the team’s ambition to hit the ground running as they chase continental glory.
