Southern Kaduna Communities Celebrate Cultural Festival

In Southern Kaduna, communities have come together to celebrate the inaugural Southern Kaduna Festival. 

It’s a vibrant celebration of culture, uniting people through music, cuisine, and dance to foster a stronger sense of unity.

At the event, Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed his commitment against discrimination, and promised to spread developmental projects across the state.

The people of Southern Kaduna, who were once victims of attacks driven by ethnic and religious sentiments are demonstrating strong resilience .

They’ve come together in Kafanchan for the maiden Southern Kaduna festival, an event that depicts their strength and unity of purpose.

In attendance here are special guests led by the host Governor, Uba Sani, his counterpart from Bayelsa, Douye Diri, the Chief of Defence Staff C.G Musa, the senator representing the region in the National assembly Sunday Katung.

Different cultural dance groups took turns to display the rich cultural heritage of the people of southern Kaduna, to the delight of the guests and audience.

Both two governors present talked about the importance of unity, and harnessing the power of diversity in achieving progress and prosperity.

Governor Sani urged the people to use the festival as an opportunity to discuss developmental challenges and offer recommendations for government intervention.

‘Meritorious Service Awards” were presented to the former Military Governor of Rivers State, Gen. Zamani Lekwot, former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Martin Luther Agwai, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Rev. Dr. Mathew Hassan Kukah, post-humous awards to late Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa and others.

Governor  Sani later  attended the annual preaching event organised by the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’adh Wa Iqmatis Sunnah in Zaria.

He commended them for their contribution to Islamic education and teaching and he also made donations.
