The Standards Organisation of Nigeria is set to storm construction sites to inspect the standard of building materials and compliance with building codes across the country.
The Director-General of the organization, Osita Aboloma gave this hint in Abeokuta during a stakeholder meeting on effective implementation of standards on building materials in Nigeria.
Aboloma who was represented by Felix Nyama noted that the increasing nature of building collapse in Nigeria has been generating concerns among stakeholders in the building and construction sector in the country and the standards organisation of Nigeria will not allow people to continue to commit suicide by living in houses constructed with substandard materials.
On his part, the President of the Building Collapse Prevention Guild highlighted some of the factors responsible for building collapse in the country and how to reduce it.
