The country Representative of this arm of the UN, said this at the graduation ceremony of young girls and women, trained in web design and digital marketing, in Abuja.

The event is the graduation of 60 women and young girls who have been trained on social media skills in order to increase their economic worth

As the month of March, which dedicated to women celebration winds down, women are encouraged to think equal, build smart and innovate for change. This the UN Women believes is pivotal to women empowerment.

Peter Mancha, who represents the UN women country Representative said this training is in fulfilment of this year’s international women’s day

The trainer, Stella Uzochukwu further explains the process of training them.

The trained women and young girls who before now didn’t know the use of mobile phones other than for phone calls and text messages also expressed optimism on the impact the training will have on their ventures.

It is certain the conditions under which these women and their families live, will change as they get more self reliant.
