Mada is a community in Gusau Local Government area of Zamfara state.

Gusau, the state capital, is around seven kilometers away.

The most recent incident occurred last Saturday, when armed bandits raided the neighborhood, killing one person, kidnapping three others, and rustling an unspecified number of livestock.

Many of the displaced residents were seen along the popular Gusau-Funtua Road, awaiting for transportation to leave the area, as the bandits threatened to return to the town for another attack.

Mada is bordered by Tsafe and Bungudu Local Government Areas, which are notorious for banditry and kidnapping.

For commuters, particularly at night, the Gusau-Tsafe Road section of Tsafe Local Government is off limits.

Security agencies says it has deployed personnel on the highway and warn Travellers to avoid the road at night, yet attack and kidnapping continious almost on a daily basis.

This comes less than 24 hours after the state government ordered citizens to get firearms for self-defense against bandits and kidnappers.
