Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has announced a dissolution of the joint committee on Downstream and midstream probing alleged infractions in the oil sector.
The joint committee was mandated to investigate alleged importation of adulterated petroleum products, the non-availability of crude oil for domestic refineries, and other critical energy security issues.
Spokesman of the House, Akin Rotimi Jnr, says a new committee will be constituted in due course by the leadership of the House.

To ensure the independence of the investigation, Mr. Rotimi Jnr says the new committee to be set up will consist of members with.proven expertise, competence, and integrity.
He says the House remains committed to addressing the critical issues and ensuring thorough oversight.
