The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has launched a library for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Tsunami Transit Camp, Gusau for the purpose of educating persons of concerns and giving them a high sense of belonging

Tagged:” Readers are Leaders,” the library, according to the NCFMI, is a bold step in advancing its Project “Educate All”

The Project Educate All’, has been conceived in line with the Commission’s work plan to address the growing challenge and learning needs of displaced persons as well as to ensure accelerated learning in emergency setting in line with global practices

It is also in partnership with ‘I Am The Future of Nigeria’ and will complement the transitional learning centres that would further enhance the reading and fast-track learning for pupils in IDP camps and host communities

The Commission also distributed Food and non Food Items and provides free medical outreach to the Internally Displaced Persons and the host Community

Block of Classrooms and conveniences were renovated and upgrade to standard level

The Items includes Rice, Maize, Millet, Vegetable oil, Water Buckets, Blankets and Kettle among other things

The Minister Ministry of Humanitarian affairs and Disaster Management Sadiya Farouk Inaugurates the projects

She applaud the resilience of the IDPs, the teachers, Head Master, IDP leaders and parents of the pupils

The Minister adds that the project is aimed at ensuring that children in IDP Camps become the best version of themselves and the Government can only do so by encouraging them to read in order to lead.

The Federal Commissioner National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) Imaan Suleiman thanked the Minister for supporting the Commission at all times

Imaan Suleiman promised to do more in improving the standard of IDPs across the country and provide with all that is needed

Zamfara is one of the Northern states with the highest number of Internally Displaced Persons as a result of Banditry and Kidnapping that has bedevilled Communities for over a decade.
