President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived the Katsina Airport to await the remains of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.
President Tinubu who is leading the nation in mourning following the death of former Military Head of State and two term President, Muhammadu Buhari, is accompanied by top officials of government and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu.
The remains of the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, is being accompanied from London’s Heathrow Airport by Vice President Kashim Shttima and the immediate family of the formder President led by his Widow, Aisha.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari died in a London hospital on Sunday Aafternoon follwoing a prolonged battle with an undisclosed aiment, he was 82.
Following his death, President Tinubu ordered that Flags should be flown at half mast and declared a 7 day mourning period with a public Holiday for the day of his burial.
An 18 Man inter ministerial committee headed by SGF George Akume was also put in place to coordinate his State burial.
Eminent Nigerians, World leaders, preachers of both his Islamic faith and Christians have all been paying tribute showing a side to the man popularly called Mai Gaskiya by his teeming supporters across the Northern part of Nigeria and the nation as a whole.
He will be buried at his private residence in Daura of the Daura Emirate of Katsina State of Nigeria.
He is the Second indigene of Katsina State to be President like Umar Musa Yar’Dua before him though he is the first to serve as both a Military Head of State and a Civilian President completing his two full terms of 8 Years.
Umar Musa Yar’Dua however died in office in May 2010.
He will be buried with full Military honours by a grateful Nation.
