The Attorney General of the Federation’s assertion that the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra leader was released but not acquitted has received support from the national security council. The government will now consider the best course of action in this case.

The release and deradicalisation of former Boko haram fighters was also approved at the security meeting, which aims to strengthen the fight against terrorism by moving the criminal justice system more quickly.

Additionally, the federal government mandated the reopening of the cement factory in Obajana that had been forcibly shut down by the Kogi State government.

The security council meeting held on Friday is the first since the return of the remaining 23 Kaduna train attack victims.

The nation’s security agencies have since made a number of other strides in their campaign against security threats.

The President also acknowledged the improvement in the security situation and is desperate to sustain the momentum as the life of his administration enters the twilight.

The alarming amount of oil theft and its threat to the nation’s revenue sources are another source of frustration for the government.
A committee has been formed by the National Security Council to look into this economic sabotage.
