The Zamfara State Police Command has announced the death of three of its officers who were killed while on active duty, describing their passing as a painful loss to the force and the nation.
The deceased officers are OC EOD, SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan; Inspector Auwal Ahmad; and Inspector Murtala Musa, all of whom were said to have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in operational duties.
In a statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, on Tuesday, June 15, the Command said the officers died in the course of safeguarding lives and maintaining peace, noting that their courage and professionalism would remain a lasting legacy within the force.

“It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we mourn the tragic loss of our gallant officers… who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving and protecting our nation,” the statement read.

The Command described the late officers as dedicated personnel who consistently demonstrated bravery in confronting security challenges, adding that their contributions to peace and stability would not be forgotten.
It extended condolences to the families of the deceased, their colleagues, and the wider police community, acknowledging the emotional and professional impact of their deaths.
“These courageous officers stood at the forefront of service, confronting danger with exceptional courage and professionalism,” the Command stated, adding that their sacrifice reflected “patriotism and devotion to duty.”
The police further noted that the fallen officers were not only colleagues but also mentors and protectors within their communities, whose absence would be deeply felt across the Command.

While mourning their deaths, the Command said it also celebrates their legacy, stressing that their sacrifice would continue to inspire serving officers.
“We pray that Almighty God grants them eternal rest, comforts their families, and gives strength to their colleagues,” it added.
