Police, locals rescue 14 kidnap victims in Kuncin Kalgo forest in Zamfara

Fourteen kidnapped victims have been rescued by troops of the Nigerian Police in Kuncin kalgo forest in Tsafe Local Government area of Zamfara State.

They were rescued after forty-two days in Captivity.

Among them are ten women Including nursing mothers, two men and two toddlers of one year each

They were abducted when armed bandits invaded their Communities Nasarawar Wanke and Rijiya villages all in Gusau LGA over forty days ago

The Victims according to the police were rescued during a search and rescue operation at Kunchin Kalgo forest in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state

The spokesperson of the Command Superintendent Mohammed Shehu Confirmed this in a press statement made available to Newsmen in Gusau

He said Police Tactical Operatives deployed along Kunchin kalgo axis in collaboration with some individuals who are partnering with security agencies in restoring peace acted on a credible intelligence and stormed a suspected bandit’s hideout on Wednesday and rescued the Kidnap Victims unhurt

Police authorities adds that in the course of debriefing, the victims informed the police that, the bandits invaded Nasarawar wanke and Rijiya villages in Gusau LGA and abducted them to their enclave, where they spent 42 days in the forest

All the rescued Victims were reunited and handed over to their family and relations

The police thanked the state government and people of the state for the continuous support and collaboration and assures of more effort to safely rescue all those in Captivity

This Development is coming hours after Sanusi Halilu a Lecturer with Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara was killed by his Abductors after the payment of five Million Naira ransom
