Operatives of the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested eight suspected cultists and an armed robbery group during a raid on a criminal hideout in the Odogunyan Area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

According to a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Bullock Tactical Team, acting on credible intelligence, on Wednesday, stormed a criminal hideout at approximately 0530 hours.

During the raid, eight suspects, who were allegedly planning nefarious activities, were apprehended, and items recovered at the scene include a Nigerian Military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit $100 bills totalling $3,000.

The suspects include:

Fadiya Ayodele ‘m’ aged 27,

Lawal Rasheed ‘m’ aged 28,

Akerele Demilare ‘m’ aged 27,

Alimi Victor ‘m’ aged 23,

Okiki Alufoge ‘m’ aged 25,

Nurudeen Dolapo ‘m’ aged 25,

Agboola Samuel ‘m’ aged 25,

Ayolade Victor ‘m’ aged 25.

During preliminary interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area, revealing that he had previously handed over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently at large.

Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, Lagos State, commended the operatives for their professionalism and swift action. He reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to making Lagos State safe and secure for all residents.
