The Lagos State Police Command said its operatives have foiled bomb attack in Ikeja, the seat of the State Government.The incident is coming few hours to the planned nationwide protests against hardship in the country.
According to a statement by the command, the incident happened around Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) facility in Ikeja.
The police claimed that an unidentified person on Wednesday afternoon dropped an Improvised Explosive Device ( EID) near the custom’s fence and escaped.
The police spokesperson said, ” On 31/07/ 24 at about 16:00 hrs,a police officer reported at EOD- CBRN base at Ikeja that, while he was on his way along Mobolaji Bank – Anthony Way, Ikeja, he sighted an unregistered white Toyota car that parked on the main road close to the PMF 23 barracks and a young man alighted from the car carefully, dropped a bag by the side of the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit fence, returned into the and zoomed off .
