Oyo state government has restated its commitment towards safeguarding lives and property of residents by strengthening the capacity of security agencies in the state.
Chief of staff to governor of Oyo state, Segun Ogunwuyi gave the assurance in Ibadan while addressing newsmen at a 3-day workshop for officers the Western Nigerian Security Network codenamed Amotekun.
Addressing insecurity in Southwest Nigeria through increased community policing, intelligence sharing, and socio-economic development remains crucial for the safety and well-being of Nigerians.
That is why the Oyo state government is engaging officers of the Oyo state command of the Western Nigerian Security network on a 3-day training working on intelligence gathering and crime analysis.
The initiative is targeted at improving the capacities of the officers on how to relate with those in the grassroots and fine tune their skills to prevent crime in the local communities.
For the government of Oyo state, it’s constitutional mandate of security the lives and property of its people through strengthening security institutions remains intact.
The initiative demonstrates a proactive approach aimed at creating a secure and stable future for Oyo and its people
