Osun gov poll: Politicians plan mega party for 2018

Leaders of various political parties in Osun State have started working to unite all opposition parties in order to field one candidate under a new party to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2018 governorship election.

Leaders of the political parties at a meeting held in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Thursday included those from the Labour Party, Accord Party, Social Democratic Party and Action Alliance Democratic Peoples Party.

Some of the prominent politicians present at the meeting, under the auspices of Isokan Osun, were the deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2014 governorship poll, Ishola Adenipekun; the candidate of the Accord Party in the bye-election in Ile-Ife, Mr. Segun Fanibe; a former Director of Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South West, Dr. Yinka Adigun; and chieftains of other political parties in the state.
