The presidency has confirmed that the national assembly has formally transmitted the 2017 appropriation bill recently passed into law to the executive for assent.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang in a closed door session presented the document to Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday.
Senator Enang told journalists afterwards that the Acting President would assent to the budget after necessary procedures had been followed.
The Presidential aide had earlier denied media reports that Professor Yemi Osinbajo lacks powers to assent to the 2017 budget document in an exclusive interview with TVC News on his way to the Presidential Villa to submit the 2017 budget to the Acting President on Friday.
