Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is optimistic that the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway will promote regional integration, boost economic activities and create jobs in West Africa. Osinbajo disclosed this at the opening of the Ninth Steering Committee Meeting for the Abidjan-Lagos Highway Development Programme in Abuja on Friday.
State House Correspondent Mariah Olasehinde reports that Osinbajo in his remarks described the corridor as one
of the flagship projects of ECOWAS and that Nigeria is enthusiastic on the opportunities that the project holds for small businesses within the region.
Professor Osinbajo also disclosed that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has demonstrated its committment to the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway by its recent ratification of the treaty establishing the
highway.
The vice president commended the Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA; the African Development Bank, ADB; and other development partners who are working towards the realization of the corridor highway.
