The Senate will on Tuesday reconvene to deliberate on the controversial suspension of of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen. Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani told TVC News in a telephone interview that the lawmakers have been summoned to the red chambers barely two days after legislative business was adjourned till 16th February.
The suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen and swearing in of Justice Tanko Mohammad as acting CJN stirred widespread controversy and attracted condemnations both locally and from the international community.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday suspended the Chief Jusitce of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, upon the directive of the Code of Conduct Tribunal and swore in Justice Tanko Mohammad as acting CJN.
