The police say it may search some electorate who may be suspected of carrying arms before they are allowed to vote.
The deputy inspector general of police, operations, in charge of the Ondo state governorship election, Habila Joshak disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the level of preparedness of security operatives ahead of Saturday’s poll.
Joshak who was flanked by other security chiefs said at least 5 policemen will man each of the polling units warning those who may be planning to foment troubles to have a rethink.

He also announced the withdrawal of all security men attached to government functionaries warning that nobody will be allowed to move beyond their polling unit.
Correspendent Ibrahim Alege reports that the police boss also disclosed that 26,000 police men, 3 commissioners of police, 20 gun boats, 3 helicopters and 6 armoured personnel carriers have been deployed for the election.
