Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged for collaboration between the Nigerian Army and sister security agencies, particularly the Western Nigeria security network (Amotekun Corp) created by south-west governors, to address security concerns in the state and area. He stated this at the start of the Nigerian Army’s Combat Support Arms Training Week in Akure, Ondo State.

In his speech, the Acting Governor praised the Army’s dedicated service and unflinching support for the Ondo state peace. He advised them to implement a new security system to improve operating efficiency.

Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, stated that the army was planning a brainstorming session on modern security concerns in order to increase the competence of various support elements in combating the country’s insurgency.

He added that the gathering will improve dialogues between service chiefs and retired generals about how to adopt technology through research and development support to improve the country’s security measures.

He claimed that the Nigerian Army would be changed to utilize local security ideas.

In his welcome message, General MG Kagye, commander of Corp Artillery, stated that the instability necessitates deliberate efforts by combat support Arms to improve security measures for a safe environment.

He also appreciated Nigerians for their assistance in obtaining intelligence for the Army.
