Ohaneze Ndigbo youth advocates more funds to improve education

A member of the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Worldwide is advocating more funds, infrastructural and education development in Nigeria.

He said this will produce students who will be able to compete favorably with their counterparts across the globe.

Ohaneze Scribe stated this at the handing over of books, bags, and inspection of the construction of new Ohaneze Primary School UMUIGBO-AMURI, in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State.

Education is tagged as the bedrock of human development, UNESCO wants 26 percent of state’s budget to fund education system.

Successive administrations in Nigeria have substantially funded the country’s education sector, but presents a far cry to meeting the UN recommendation.

In Enugu State, Education development remains the cardinal pprogramme under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration, with rehabilitation and construction of new public primary and secondary schools across the three senatorial zones.

Most of the schools are not only equipped with modern infrastructure but have new teachers recruited and training of teachers remain a routine exercise.

In an effort to ensure qualitative education is delivered to the youths, this Ohaneze Youth secretary is admonishing government to do more in ensuring future leaders are properly taken care off.

Staff members of Holy Ghost Catholic Cathedral Primary School acknowledged the supports, extends same to other old students to complement government efforts in education development.

The Ohaneze Ndigbo’s youth scribe also inspected the construction work and unveiling of Ohaneze Primary School, Umuigbo-Amuri in Nkanu East Council Area of Enugu State.
