In order to create thousands of job opportunities through Agriculture, Ogun State Government and some foreign partners have started training 3,000 youths and women in tomato and chili pepper production.
The wife of the Governor, Bamidele Abiodun made this known during the flag-off of the empowerment programme tagged tomato and chili pepper (TOMAPEP) value chains, held at Eweje Farm Institute, in Odeda.
She noted that the exercise was aimed at empowering small holder farmers towards increased productivity, like linkages with inputs, credits, markets, job creation and food security.
Participants appreciated the opportunity provided for them by the state Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and expressed readiness to make good use of it.
