Surveyors in Ogun State have emphasised more on the need to embrace the use of drones and other digital tools while carrying out their duties and to keep to the rules of the profession in order to wipe out quacks.

They made this known at a programme of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

As a major stakeholder in planning for sustainable environment, surveyors are usually the first to inspect, map, peg and present details about a particular location before being used for developmental purposes.

In order to move along with the trend and be in tune with the international standard, professional surveyors have been urged to embrace the use of drones and other digital tools.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors in Ogun State, Ademola Adebowale made this known after his inauguration for the second term in office.

The President of Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Kayode Oluwamotemi on his part called for discipline among members.

He also identified quackery and lack of modern tools as part of the challenges confronting the profession.

The programme which also featured the investiture of the Chairman of the Association of Private Practicing Surveyors of Nigeria was attended by professionals across the country and they called on citizens to always enage professional surveyors before doing anything on the land in order for them to get true assessment of the place and to avert future disaster.
