Ogun Customs Command confirms increase in revenue generation

Image result for Ogun Customs Command confirms increase in revenue generationThe Ogun state command of the Nigeria Customs Service has confirmed that it has increased its revenue generation drive and has arrested many smugglers in the first quarters of 2019.

The Comptroller, Michael Agbara made this known while briefing journalists about the achievements of the Command at the State Operational Headquarters, Idi – Iroko, Ogun state.

TVC News Kazeem Olowe reports that Ogun State has remained a no go area for smugglers who are desirous of making profits because men of the Nigeria Customs service are determined to prevent and seize all contraband goods coming from the Benin republic.

The Comptroller, Micheal Agbara made this known while commending his men for their selfless service in the interest of the country.

He hinted that the revenue shows difference of N1.9b naira from what was generated in the first quarters of 2018.

He also noted that the anti-smuggling activities of the command has led to various clashes with smugglers, leading to death the death of one of his
men but the customs will not relent.

The Comptroller added that his men also intercepted 1.8 tons of cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) and have handed it over to the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
