The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has joined the people of Kebbi State in mourning the death of the Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (Rtd.), Gomo II, who passed away at the age of 81.
In a condolence message, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, described the late Emir as a highly respected monarch, elder statesman and patriotic leader who devoted his life to the service of Nigeria in both military and traditional roles.
Governor Yahaya fondly recalled the Emir’s distinguished military career, including his impactful service as Military Administrator of the old Bauchi State, where he contributed immensely to the state’s development.
He further noted the monarch’s unwavering commitment to the progress of the Zuru Emirate and his support for the Northern States Governors’ Forum through the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council, where he was regarded as a stabilizing and respected voice.
On behalf of his colleagues, the NSGF Chairman conveyed heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Zuru Emirate Council, and the government and people of Kebbi State.
He urged the family and the emirate to uphold the legacy of service, dignity and development left by the late monarch, while praying Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
