As the 2023 General Election approaches and campaigns heat up, there is an urgent need to control the spread of Fake News and Misinformation, which politicians frequently use to manipulate citizens.

The National Orientation Agency is taking the bull by the horns, insisting fake news is a threat to peace, Security, Democracy and National Development.

The agency has expanded the net of critical Fact checkers in a bid to maintain law and order, before, during and After the 2023 Election process.

Participants were delighted to have been exposed to tools that will come in handy in verifying information and curbing the possible dangers.

So far, the National Orientation Agency has trained over 1000 participants in the Fact Checking course, which it hopes will help to reduce potential threats to national peace, security and development.
