The New year Eve murder of a medical doctor, Uyi Iluobe in his hospital in Oghara, Ethiopia West Council Area of Delta has been generating reactions as the Nigerian Medical Association Delta State Chapter is latest to react to the unfortunate incident.

Nigerian Medical Association in Delta State is calling on the Nigerian Police not to jump into hasty conclusion but rather  do a full investigation of the gruesome killing of  their colleague while appealing to the Delta state Governor to assist the family of the deceased doctor.

Addressing a press conference at the NUJ centre Asaba, the NMA executive led by its state Vice chairman, Anthony Okwunze condemned the killing especially at this time of massive exodus of doctors from the country.

The Delta State Police Command had earlier debunked the rumour of the family members of a supposedly dead patient responsible for the murder of the doctor. This is contained in statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Edafe Bright which also revealed that police has commenced investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile the Governor of Delta State also in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Olisa Ifeajika decried the gruesome murder, charging the police to do all they can to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

FMC OWO DISCHARGES TERROR ATTACK VITCIMS

The Federal Medical Centre, FMC Owo in Ondo State, has discharged all the victims of the June 5, 2022 terror attack in the town, where dozens of people were killed.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Ahmed Liasu Adeagbo, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Owo, said the state government played key role in ensuring that the victims were well-treated.

The new year is here and the management of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owo decided to take stocks and examine things left undone in 2022.

The meeting gave the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Ahmed Liasu Adeagbo opportunity to take a critical look at the June 5 terror attack in Owo, which left dozens dead.

Many of the victims of the terror attack were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to the Chief Medical Director, all the victims that were brought to the hospital alive, have been discharged.

He was appreciative of the efforts of the state government, geared towards saving lives of the victims.

The Chief Medical Director is also worried about mass exodus of health workers from the country.

He believes that the health challenges facing Nigeria can be addressed with adequate funding and constant recruitment to address shortage of manpower.
