The newly constituted Governing Board of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council has held its inaugural meeting with the executive management team of the council in Lagos.
Interaction at the meeting underscored the importance of setting operational and administrative policies in accordance with government policy directives aimed at assisting the parastatal to achieve its mandate.
The board is expected to measure performance against targets and introduce broad-based policy measures that will curtail forms of deviations to ensure that the targets are achieved.
Deliberations also centered on finding solutions to trade and transport challenges in Nigeria’s seaport environment.
