The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba, said arrangements have been made with the informal sector to provide some essential services to avoid the loss of lives as workers withdraw their services due to the ongoing strike.
The Deputy Governor said the Niger State Government is doing this to ensure that workers in the Sector are protected from the blowback of the ongoing strike by the Labour coalition to press home the demand for a new national minimum wage.
