The first ever green economy summit has commenced in Niger state organised by the Niger state governor Umaru Bago.
The special guest of honour president Bola Tinubu is represented by the summit minister of Agric and food security Senator Sani Abdullahi
This event has attracted a remarkable gathering of over 500 participants and investors. Notable attendees include former President Abdulsalam Abubakar and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum.
A pivotal moment at the summit will be the unveiling of the Niger Green Economy Blueprint, a guiding document for the state’s developmental strategies.
Themed “Sustainable Future: Harnessing Green Assets Innovation for Niger State,” the two-day summit is poised to tackle crucial topics such as energy system decarbonization, circular economy, waste management, green agriculture, food security, eco-tourism, and community development, among others.
Remarkably, this summit aligns strategically with the United Nations International Day for Climate Action, creating a platform for comprehensive discussions and innovative solutions on various pressing issues.
