TVC N. A militant group has surrendered its weapons to the Rivers state government. Governor Nyesom Wike had issued a 60-day window period to militants in the region to surrender their weapons or risk military action.
The governor had said: “Anyone who has surrendered his arms and has followed through the process laid out for the amnesty will be pardoned. Such a person will not be prosecuted.“This committee has 60days to complete its assignment.
After the 60days, any cultist or militant who fails to subscribe to the amnesty programme will face the full weight of the law”.
