The Lagos State Government, during its routine clean-up enforcement, has seized 70 commercial motorcycles across major restricted routes on the Island axis of the state.

In a Thursday statement on X  by Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, the operation was carried out on Wednesday and began at about 9:30 am across key restricted routes on the Island.

According to the statement, the exercise covered “Falomo Underbridge, Marina, Coastal Road, Ajah Roundabout, Ogombo, Igboefon, Abraham Adesanya Junction, and 2nd Rainbow.”

The statement reads, “The operation, which commenced at 9:30 am, covered Falomo Underbridge, Marina, Coastal Road, Ajah Roundabout, Ogombo, Igboefon, Abraham Adesanya Junction, and 2nd Rainbow.
“Enforcement focused on the highway ban on commercial motorcycles, street trading, illegal parking, unapproved bus stops, and other activities disrupting public safety. Seventy (70) motorcycles were confiscated, restoring calm, order, and free traffic flow.”
“All seized motorcycles will be forfeited to the state through the courts in line with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018. The Ministry appreciates public cooperation as it works to keep Lagos moving safely and smoothly,” the statement concluded.
