The Red Line Rail has been offering free rides to passengers since August as part of its ongoing test run.

Senior Correspondent, Adedoja Salam-Adeniyi embarked on the invitational passenger operation, with The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA to have a direct experience.

She said the journey commenced at the Ikeja train station, the team proceeded to the turnstile to gain access to the train platform.

The acceptable payment options for boarding all Lagos trains including the Red line are  Cowry Card and LASRRA Card -that is Lagos State Resident Registration Card.

True to its schedule, the train arrives promptly at 9.35am local time for its first trip, demonstrating the rail service’s commitment to punctuality.

From Ikeja, all roads lead to Agbado in Ogun State.

With seven stations built along its corridor, including Agbado, lju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, and Oyingbo, the rail line is meant to  reduce travel time and congestion in the city.

Head of Corporate Communication, Lamata, Kolawole Ojelabi told TVC News the changes implemented to enhance residents’ convenience.

We arrived at Agbado in Ogun state, 33 minutes after boarded.

New passengers were picked at the Agbado train station.

The Red Line Rail was inaugurated on February 29, 2024, by President Bola Tinubu.

The event  marked the completion of the first phase of the 37-kilometer rail line, which spans from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in Lagos Central.
