Baba Jiya Kolo has emerged as the Kwara north senatorial candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party.
He emerged through a consensus arrangement held at Bode Saadu in Moro local government area of Kwara state.
He was affirmed as the candidate of the party by all the delegates present at the primary election.
Responding after his election, Mr Baba Jiya Kolo promised to make youth empowerment his focal point at the senate.
He also promised to fight for genuine local government autonomy through sponsorship of bills to guarantee such.
He appealed to supporters of the New Nigeria People’s Party to avoid violence and obtain their permanent voter cards in order to be eligible to vote.
