Senator Kawu Sumaila, who represents Kano South in the National Assembly, has tied the knot with Flying Officer Aisha Isah of the Nigerian Air Force.

The couple held a modest wedding ceremony on Monday at the Emir of Rano’s palace in Kano State.

The marriage was confirmed by Sumaila’s media aide, Muttaqa Babire, who posted a photo of the senator and his new wife—dressed in her NAF uniform—on Facebook.

Another aide, Ahmad Kiru, also shared updates from the ceremony, offering prayers for a blessed and harmonious union.

Flying Officer Isah hails from Rano Local Government Area, a major part of Sumaila’s senatorial constituency.

The development comes shortly after the lawmaker defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sumaila said his decision to join the ruling party was driven by a desire to better serve his constituents, safeguard their interests, and work toward a more secure future for the district.
