The Kano State Government has denied claims that Emir Bayero was placed under house arrest, emphasising he stayed at Gidan Nasarawa of his own free will.
The state attorney general and commissioner of Justice, Haruna Dederi disclosed this during a joint press conference at the Africa House of the Government House.
The Commissioner, who spoke on behalf of Governor Abba Yusuf, also criticised the State Police Commissioner for banning Eid-el-Kabir festivities without consulting the Governor.
He then called for peace and urged intervention from Nigerians and the international community to ensure stability in Kano.
