Kaduna police parade 1,128 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers

The Kaduna State Police Command reports that 985 suspected phone snatchers, as well as 143 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers, have been apprehended in the last two months.

The Commissioner, Ali Dabigi reaffirmed police dedication to combating criminal elements and called for public support.

He detailed the achievements of the Kaduna State Police Command in the past two months which includes arrest of suspects involved in armed robbery, kidnapping, and banditry, as well as the recovery of various arms, ammunition, vehicles, and rustled cattle.

The police authority announced the capture of a notorious spiritualist who admitted to providing spiritual assistance to bandits for a fee of N20,000.

A suspect, Aisha Abubakar was caught on the Kaduna-Zaria highway with 550 rounds of AK47 ammunition.

She has admitted that the bullets were to be delivered to one Dan Musa in Yan Tumaki, Katsina, for which she received N50,000.

She and her accomplice were paraded.

Another suspect, Amos Yakubu, disguises himself in military attire, and targets POS operators in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.

Government officials acknowledged the heightened anti-crime efforts of the police.

Security forces also intercepted a stolen diplomatic vehicle from the São Tomé Embassy.

It was allegedly seized at gunpoint in Abuja and was en route to Kaduna.

The authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts to rid the state and nation of enemies of peace.
