The Niger Delta Self-Determination Movement made its position known in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

TVC News correspondent, Uche Okoro reports that the Niger Delta Self Determination Movement, led by a social activist, Annkio Briggs believes the indigenous people of Biafra should be given a listening ear.

Okoro reports that the group described the belief that Northern states are the biggest beneficiaries of resources from the south, as being largely responsible for the frosty relationship between some sections of the north and southeast.

It is for this reason that the group is worried that the quit notice handed down to Igbo’s residing and doing business in the north may deepen this feeling of disharmony.

Annkio Briggs and her group also advocated a more structured dialogue at the national level as a means of addressing the grievances of various interest groups and ethnic nationalities.

While supporting calls for Nigeria to remain as one indivisible entity, the Niger Delta Self Determination Movement is also calling for the immediate and unconditional restructuring of the country especially in the area of resource control.
