Senator Friday Benson Konbowei, representing Bayelsa Central, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made on Thursday when Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Konbowei’s letter of defection before the close of plenary.

Konbowei cited persistent and intractable crises within the PDP as the reason for his decision to join the ruling party.
