A near air mishap was averted on Saturday when an aircraft belonging to Air Peace skidded off the Runway at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
The aircraft with registration 5N-BRN with 94 passengers and six crew members skidded off the runway at about 13.00 hrs in the afternoon. All passengers were however evacuated safely.

Confirming the incident, Accident Investigations Bureau (AIB) spokesperson, Mr Tunji Oketunbi confirmed stated that the Accident Investigation Bureau has been notified of the Air Peace flight from Abuja to Port Harcourt with 94 passengers and 6 crew members on board with Registration marks 5N-BRN;
“The aircraft skidded off the Runway to the left about 1300m from the Runway 21 threshold at the Port Harcourt International airport. All passengers and crew have been evacuated safely. Accident Investigation Bureau has dispatched investigators who are on their way to the site” he stated.
