Joint security forces kill five gunmen in Anambra

Anambra state security forces comprising the Military, Police and other Security agencies have neutralized a gang of unknown arsonists that tried to attack the military checkpoint at Afor-Uzo junction Isuofia in Agauta local government area of Anambra state.

The was made public in a statement made available by the state commissioner of Information and Strategy, Paul Nwosu disclosed that the military neutralized 4 of the gang members.

The statement narrates the fierce exchange of shooting between the hoodlums and the military, that led to death of the arsonists gang and recovery of heir Toyota Avenza with Reg. No KRD 344 BT with which they launched the deadly operation

The state Governor Chukwuma Soludo further reassured the people of their safety, especially during this yuletide season

Responding, the state police spokesperson DSP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka.

It disclosed that the police commissioner CP Echenge Echenge charged his personnel to sustain the tempo against criminal elements, ordered patrols be intensified and improved operational positioning to respond to distress calls in the state.
