The Benue state Governor, Hyacinth Alia who led a delegation from United Nations High Commission for Refugees addressed the displaced person on efforts made.

Earlier, at the Government house, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees delegation sounded warning that the country may face food security if humanitarian crisis is not addressed.

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia emphasised to the visiting delegation that the plight of internally displaced persons and Cameroonian refugees in the state is an urgent concern for his
administration.

With this visit by the UNHCR team, it is expected that the much needed support from humanitarian community through the support for the Durable Solution initiative will fast track the return of the internally displaced persons in the State to their ancestry homes.
