INEC sensitises religious centres ahead of 2023 polls to ensure active participation

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says it will take sensitisation to Churches, Mosques, traditional religion worship Centres, Parks and other public places to ensure active participation of Nigerians in the forthcoming general elections.

Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Doctor Mutiu Agboke said this while addressing congregation at Union Baptist Church in Osogbo.

It is now 96 days to the 2023 general elections. The State resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke joined christian faithful at the Union Baptist Church to worship with them.

Addressing the congregation, Mutiu Agboke said his presence in the church became necessary for the success of next year’s election.

According to him, messages passed across through worship Centres and other public places will be more effective

While noting that over 400,000 PVCs are still uncollected in the State state, the REC promised to partner with necessary stakeholders ahead of the polls.

In a sermon, the pastor in Charge of the Church, Osogbo, Reverend Sunday Adeoye warned against laziness among members.

He also warned clergymen against attracting attention to themselves through miracles.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Doctor Mutiu Agboke visited the Osogbo Central Mosque on Friday for the same purpose.
