The Independent National Electoral Commission in Enugu state is urging stakeholders to sensitise residents in the collection of permanent voter cards.
INEC National Commissioner, Chukwuemeka Chukwuma disclosed that out of 381 567 unclaimed PVCs, a little above 20 000 has so far been collected.
With less than seven weeks to the general election, the independent National Electoral Commission is calling on Nigerians to troop out en-mass to pick up their permanent voter cards.
The state resident electoral commissioner in Enugu disclosed that out of the 137 665 uncollected PVC for 2019 election with 253 507 newly registered voters in last year’s CVR exercise, a little above 20 000 have collected their voted cards in the state about.
Chukwuma assured the commission’s readiness to conduct credible election despite of insecurity in the sub-region.
Chukwuma expressed confidence that the exercise will be peaceful owing to several engagement. The commission acts with stakeholders and security agencies.
The commission promised to ensure all eligible voters are not denied access to their PVCs.
The commission urged residents to avail themselves for the proposed 10 days exercise designed for Mass distribution of voter cards to the political ward to enable the people have unrestricted access to their PVCs.
