This year’s Eid-Ul Adha celebration in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, was rounded off with a Durbar showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the people of Ilorin Emirate.

Islam is deeply rooted in the city and this explain why Eid-ul Adha is often celebrated with fanfare.

This year’s celebration is heralded by the annual Ilorin Emirate

This year’s edition is no exception.

As it is the usual practice, the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim
Zulu- Zambari rides, in company of a retinue of horse riders, across
some parts of the city.

People pay homage to the Emir during this period.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his elder brother who is also the Mutawali of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq are also on ground to pay homage to the Emir.

The event is rounded off at the forecourt of the Emir’s palace with beautiful display of horse ride

Different families and compounds are represented here. They are
adorned in different attires and well designed placards to identify
with the Emir on this special occasion.

The traditional Ilorin music also takes the centre stage reminding the people of their culture and heritage.

The theme for this year’s durbar celebration is :”Sustaining Our
Traditions Through Generations.
