The Train Attack in Igueben occurred as a result of negligence and non responsiveness on the part of those who should have known since a threat has been there for sometime.

Military Veteran, Wilson Osajie, disclosed this while speaking to the TVC News Breakfast on Tuesday Morning.

Wilson Osajie who said his hometown is just about ten minutes drive from Igueben has been perceived as being unsafe even as far back as 6 months ago when he visited and was advised at 6pm not to travel due to insecurity.

He added that the Federal Government through the Ministry of Transportation has failed to come up with acceptable safety measures despite the Terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna Passenger Train Service on March 28th 2022 that claimed more than 8 Lives.

He disclosed that the Federal Government even with the setting up of an 11 member committee to look at the threats within the Transport Sector and come up with solutions.

He urged the Federal Government to do a Post Mortem analysis of the situation to know the why and what of the attack and how to prevent further occurrences in the future.

He said the fact the minister of Transportation was in Edo State where he talked about integrating the community into the Security arrangement for the Train Station is something that should have happened earlier especially for critical infrastructures like the Transport system.

He called for not only the adoption of the American Type Political system by Nigeria but the security architecture too.

He said the people must not live in fear adding that once that happens, Security has been defeated.

Going Further, he said the essence of Crime prevention is to reduce Crime rate adding that Crime will always be there no matter what is done.

On the position of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railways Corporation that it cannot completely secure the railways, he said he disagrees with his position adding that Security is achievable.

He said the Closed Circuit Television, CCTV, which he advocates is for the curtailment of a crime in progress and a Post Mortem analysis of the Crime
