With the worrying and alarming rate of mental health disorder, the Institute of Counseling in Nigeria has added its voice to the call for a comprehensive approach to the problem.

This was a clear message at the institute’s fourth annual graduation ceremony, which was recently conducted in Lagos.

The Institute’s other gathering addressed one of its primary goals, which has been to find solutions to various social and psychological difficulties among people.

Challenging the graduating students, the Institute head of academic found numerous indicators of mental health being displayed on a daily basis, which appoints the gathering as well.

Speaking at the ceremony, Wale Adefarasin, Board Chairman of the Institute of Counselling in Nigeria, stated that information is critical to man’s life and that there is always a struggle when such information is not distributed to those who require it.

This has been a problem in terms of mental health, literacy, knowledge, and the importance of counseling and its services, according to him.

An oath taking exercise was conducted after the lecture.

Students promised to put to practice what they have learnt as the sensitisation about mental health continues.
