The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC , has disclosed its plans to restore power supply to Lalupon and its environs after ten years of being out of power grid.
The management of the power distribution company made this known while addressing newsmen at a press conference held in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Few days ago, residents of Lalupon and other neighbouring communities stormed the Monatan office of IBEDC in Ibadan, to protest against ten years of darkness.
To get a closer look at the situation, TVC News visited one of the affected communities, Lalupon and its neighboring communities, and discovered they are facing the same challenge.
Community leaders say the situation had crippled businesses in the areas.
Meanwhile, to keep to the promise it made during a press conference, IBEDC has deployed a team of technical engineers to Lalupon to work on restoring power within three weeks pending the completion of the 1/15MVA 33kV injection project.
With the promise to restore power supply, the Electric Distribution Company has raised expectations and must now deliver on their commitment by bringing relief to the communities that have waited patiently for so long.
